Police Relations
Combating crime is a team effort. Sonitrol established the Partners Against Crime program to help police authorities increase criminal apprehensions through the use of Sonitrol audio and video verification technologies.
Introduced to the general public in 1994, the Partners Against Crime program provides training on the benefits of verified audio intrusion and video security sytems. Sonitrol is able to verify alarms by strategically placing small microphones in customer's businesses to listen for potential break-ins once the system is activated. The ability to hear what is actually happening in real-time during a break-in provides the police with additional intelligence, information and investigative evidence that could be used later in court. The program is offered as a way to increase the potential of a criminal apprehension at those businesses that have suffered recurring break-ins.
The program also offers and excellent opportunity for businesses to learn the difference between and "apprehension" based security system and a conventional "detection" based security system. As part of our local Partners Against Crime program, Sonitrol contributes $50-$100 per apprehension incident that leads to an arrest, to the local Crime Stoppers program. Our basic goal is simple - protect our customers from unlawful entry and, if there is such an entry, help the police apprehend the intruder.
Our basic job is to make the responding authorities' job easier and keep our customers and their businesses safe. Our goal is to provide the best service and security solutions out there. The Sonitrol Commitment to Service extends beyond the customer to the communities in which we live and work, and to the law enforcement personnel who work to keep us safe.
